Barbara is a mixed-media artist/art educator. Originally from NYC, she began her personal education in art history through many museum visits as well as private art lessons from a local artist.

She has resided in the Pikes Peak Region and New Mexico all her adult life. Barbara is a trained handmade paper artist currently working in paper mache and “out of the box collage”. Locally, she is currently showing at the Reserve Gallery in Woodland Park. She taught at Pikes Peak Community College; was artist in residence for the Pikes Peak Library District; has been artist in residence at 4 area schools; has taught summer workshops in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and is proudly on the faculty of The Bemis School of Art at Colorado College for over 30 years. She was also one of the producers of successful body packaging art performance projects.

Her current forte is teaching extensive classes in mixed media to adults. She works with gelli plate prints citrosov altered papers, prepared papers, all types of colorants and various papers and surfaces to collage upon.

Barbara is thrilled to be part of the Sheppard Art Institute and hopes to bring her expertise to many students.
