Kathy Noble Biography

 

Watercolor and acrylic artist Kathleen Noble is known for her colorful, natural landscapes and still-life paintings.  She began painting scenes from the Pacific Northwest and the Colorado Rockies while living in Seattle and now in the Colorado Springs area.  She is also known for her book cover illustrations.  Kathleen is a member of the Mountain Artists in Woodland Park, Colorado, and the Plano Art Association and Art Centre of Plano in Texas.

Watercolor Paints (Windsor & Newton Watercolor Tubes)

  • Cobalt Blue

  • Ultramarine Blue

  • Permanent Rose

  • Cadmium Red Medium

  • Payne’s Grey

  • Lemon Yellow

  • Hansa Yellow Medium

  • Burnt Sienna

  • Raw Sienna

Note:  Also, purchase a tube of White Gouache paint.

Watercolor Brushes (Buy the best you can afford)

  • ½” flat

  • 1” flat

  • #3 & #4 rigger or script

  • #8 & #12 round

Note:  Watercolor brushes have softer bristles and shorter handles than acrylic or oil brushes. 

Other Supplies

  • Arches Cold Press, 140#, pad (9” x 12”)

  • Water Container (i.e., Cool whip bowl)

  • Natural Sponge

  • Toothbrush

  • Watercolor sketch book

  • Kneaded eraser

  • Small Spray Bottle

  • Roll of 1” to 1½” Painters Tape or Masking Tape

  • Paper Towels

  • Palette with lid (9” x 12”)

  • #2 pencil (mechanical is best)

  • Salt Shaker with salt

  • Tissues
